Two more groups - from Bulgaria and Greece received First awards at the ongoing XII International Folklore Festival "Euro folk - Black sea 2016" in Kiten. The president of the European Association of Folklore Festivals Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov gave the prestigious awards.
Choir and dance group "AGAPI" from the Greek town Perea won the "Orpheus" in "Folklore ensembles" category. The program of Greek group with conductor Mrs. Eleonora Kalaitsidou included songs and dances from Asia Minor, Propondida, Thrace, Macedonia and Ikaria island. Under the accompaniment of Christos Danas - violin, Marios Borbudakis - lute and Theofilos Terezakis - percussion the choir presented popular song of Manos Hatzidakis - "The children of Pireas" soundtrack of the movie "Never on Sunday".
Deserved award and "Orpheus" was given by the jury to the Representative children's - youth ensemble for folklore songs and dances "Zdravche-Venche" at "Vasil Levski - 1904" Community centre from Velingrad, region of Pazardzhik. The award was given to the art director of the group - Ivan Ivanov.
In the 12th edition of "Euro folk - Black sea 2016" the ensemble presented Musical-dance composition "Polah ot Velingradsko" - choreography and scene play by Veselina Gizdova. Young and temperamental Bulgarians "fired" the scene and showed what exactly we call Bulgarian and national.
The program of XII International Folklore Festival "Euro folk - Black sea 2016" continues on 24th and 25th of June at 16:30h on the "Green park" stage in Kiten. The concerts will be live broadcasted onlin on Eurofolk TV - tv.eurofolk.com
