Euro Folk Academy Ltd. is established in 1992 as a scientific organization for researches by large team of scientists from 7 Scientific Institutes at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences under the name of NOF "Academy". Publications and developments have been made in the fields of informational technologies, ecology, powder metallurgy, design and construction of treatment plants, forestry, establishment of centers for culture and arts, and others.

In 1998, Euro Folk Academy Ltd. together with the "Ecological Stara planina" Association organized the first Stara Planina Fest "Balkan folk" in Veliko Tarnovo. Preservation, development and promotion of Bulgarian folklore traditions have become a priority part in the activities of the Academy.

Smart leadership of the Academy's head Mr. Iliyan Nikolov in the period since 1992 till 2012, managed not only to keep the existance of the Academy, but to develope its activity according to the political and economic situation at this period. With the help of the Academy as a main organizer of numerous of regional and international festivals a network of contacts in Europe and worldwide has been created and in 2007 the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF was established. Mr. Iliyan Nikolov was elected as the President of the Association, who heads the organization until his death on March 6, 2012.

Since 2012 to act as Managing of the Academy has been elected Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov.

The main visions and objectives Euro Folk Academy achieved by organizing and conducting the Musical Feasts "Euro Folk". Musical Feasts "Euro Folk" consist of twenty-five musical festivals which are held under the auspices of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF.

Main event of Musical Feasts "Euro Folk" is Festival for traditional folklore arts  №1 in Europe - Stara Planina Fest "Balkan folk". The festival welcomes 10 000 - 15 000 musicians, singers and dancers annually. A characteristic feature of Musical Feasts "Euro Folk" is that all performances are recorded with professional audio and television equipment and the best of them are frequently broadcasted on the air of Europe. These activities are the main purposes of Musical Feasts "Euro folk" - "The world is television" for promotion of the traditional folklore arts through the huge possibilities of mass media. With the establishment and sustaining of the TV Studio Euro folk, the Academy complies with its obligations and commitments.
