An almost two-hour festive concert marked the 10th anniversary since the creation of the Dance formation "Trake" at "N. Y. Vaptsarov 1924" Community Center, Stamboliyski (Bulgaria). By the special invitation of the organizers, the folklore celebration was attended by Kaloyan Nikolov - President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF, Mariana Nutsova - ethnologist and member of the Jury of the Balkan, European and World Championship of folklore "Euro Folk" and the team of EuroFolk Internet TV, which filmed the event and will release a CD.

The concert started with a 7-minute photo story about the history of Dance formation "Trake". Besides the celebrating dancers, the dancers from the Folklore Children's Dance Ensemble "Yuzhnyache"also  performed on the stage. Znaheta Ivanova leads both ensembles, as she is also their choreographer. The audience enjoyed an endless celebration of music, movements and costumes from all ethnographic regions of Bulgaria and cheerfully applauded all the dances, including two new*, introduced by Dance formation "Trake".

The event, which is significant for the town, was also attended by the Mayor of Stamboliyski Municipality Georgi Maradzhiev; Deputy Mayors Maria Valkanova and Lyubomir Markov, who is also chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Community center; the chairman of the municipal council Stoyan Bogdanov; Prof. Daniela Dzheneva - Director of FЕ "Trakia" and Deputy Rector of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts - Plovdiv; prominent ballet masters; soloists and choreographers, as well as a number of other prominent personalities from the municipal administration and the municipal council, representatives of law enforcement, business, specialists in the production of folklore clothing, school and kindergarten directors, Comunity center members and citizens.

The celebriting people received many flowers and congratulations, including from the president of  EAFF - Mr. Kaloyan Nikolov.

 

"...in 2017 Dance formation "Trake" became a winner of Golden medal and the special prize Bronze "Orpheus" at the IX European Championship of Folklore "Euro folk" in Nessebar and Sunny Beach. The team of the European Association of Folklore Festivals is proud, that folklore formations such as yours appear on our stages with passion, soul and blaze; that they preserve Bulgarian folk art expressed through dance and convey to the audience this love and devotion to their native traditions and national identity ...", is said in a Congratulatory address.

 

 *1. Dance "Yurush"– on motifs from the choreography of Margarita Dikova

A palette of variety in women's costumes. The dancers are dressed in authentic costumes from the recent past, typical of the region of Stamboliyski.

2.  Dance  "Kudi" – on music by Nikolay Stoykov and choreography by prof. Kiril Dzhenev

The custom "Kudi" is a winter male custom from Golyamo Konare (Plovdiv region), at present - Saedinenie. By this unique custom (characterized by the attitude towards the beloved girl, her relatives and especially the men's clothing), was created  the dance for Ensemble "Trakia".
