Dance group from Vidin (Bulgaria) is the winner of Grand Prix at VIII Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore “Euro folk 2017”
Dance club “Zharava” from Vidin (Bulgaria) with artistic director Fidanka Asenova won the Grand Prix Golden “Orhpeus”, check for 1000 leva, golden medal and the title Absolute national champion of folklore for 2017 at VIII Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore “Euro folk 2017”. The prestigious awards were granted by Kaloyan Nikolov - President of the European Association of Folklore Festivals - EAFF.
Absolute Vice-champion of folklore for 2017 at a second place with Silver “Orpheus”, became the Folklore choir to Folklore Ensemble “BULGARANI” at Association “Ensemble for folklore dances BULGARANI” – Sofia (Bulgaria), with artistic directors Vladimir Nedev and Ekaterina Kostadinova.
The third prestigious place in the Folklore National Championship was taken by Dance Ensemble “Ludi mladi” at “Pravda 1905” Community center, Novachene village (municipality of Botevgrad, Bulgaria). The performers were awarded with Bronze “Orpheus” and bronze medal in the final ranking of the Championship.
VIII Bulgarian National Championship of Folklore “Euro folk 2017” was held from 11 to 21 May in the old Bulgarian capital Veliko Tarnovo, together with II World cup of Folklore – Veliko Tarnovo 2017 and the 21-st edition of festival № 1 in Europe – Stara Planina Fest “Balkan Folk”. More than 200 groups with more than 4000 musicians, singers and dancers from Bulgarian and abroad took part in the three forums.
